Boots Beauty Advent Calender // Day 5

Today is a hard one for me to write about purely because I don't look for matte foundations. I have very dry skin so I go for more dewy textures that don't cling to my dry patches. So for me personally this isn't a holy grail foundation however my friend also had this calender for Christmas and she personally enjoys this foundation. It offers a good coverage and is perfect for more combination/oily skin issues. So I would say defiantly worth a try if you have oily skin, its a good price for a good product!

review // Real Techniques core collection

Hey guys,
So I think we all know where this is going... It seems to me that everyone and their sister, brother and goldfish have these brushes and just can't seem to get enough of them. Sadly for me where there is a hype, there is me stood there, being a sheep. But in the case of 'The Real Techniques Core Collection' I genuinely have found love. I never really use to be a huge brush person just would use my grubby fingers to whack the make-up onto my face, but slowly I got more and more into them. One day, whilst in Birmingham, I took the plunge and brought these beauties at £21.99. Lets just say its one of the best £21.99 I have ever spent. I find this kit is great to start off your brush collection and join the path of applying make-up better. I love the fact they are synthetic and cruelty free. This makes them feel so soft and makes the application of make-up so easy and smooth. I shall run through each one of the brushes and what I use it for.
'The holy grail brush' or sometimes known as the 'Buffing Brush'. This brush is designed to be used for applying powders or minerals but I prefer to use it at my liquid foundation brush. Like many other bloggers I find it gives me a flawless and even application of my foundation. I can see why this brush is so hyped up because it defiantly deserves it.
Secondly, we have the 'Contour Brush' which is meant to be used to apply highlighter and like the name suggest contour the cheek bone. I use it to apply my blush whether it be cream or powder, I feel it would work best as a contour brush if you were to use bronzer but I haven't found a bronzer for my skin yet! But it does do a brilliant job of evenly blending out my blusher.
When then have the 'Pointed Foundation Brush' which is designed to be used with liquid foundation. I, on the other hand, use it to blend out my concealer, especially in those hard to reach areas. I love the fact I can use the pointed end to get in the crooks around my nose and then use it flat to blend it over any blemishes.
Finally we have the brush I use the least the 'Detailer brush'. I find this is a good brush for creating a smokey eye where you don't want the liner to look straight and harsh. It also works well as a lip brush like suggested by Samantha Chapman herself.
Overall I find this an extremely useful kit of brushes that are so versatile and could be used by anybody. They are so soft and well crafted and are a must have for anyone with an interest in makeup. If you don't own these brushes then go, go and get some now! Have you done a post on this collection? Or love them as much as me? Let me know!

review //No7 Match Foundation

Hey guys,
So its happened. I have jumped on the famous band wagon. I went into Boots and got my foundation matched using their matching service! The woman was really lovely and they matched me to Calico, which so happens to be the lightest color you can get ( secretly i'm a ghost). I got the medium coverage Stay Perfect which gives me a flawless look without changing the color of my skin to orange. It claims that it lasts all day and it does to an extent. I put it on at roughly 7am and by the time I get home at 5pm its not as 'perfect' as it was in the morning but it does have more longevity than most foundations! I'm currently not using a primer so that also could play a part but overall so far I'm pleased with this foundation. It matches my skin tone well and to an extent it lasts all day so thumbs up No7 me and my mum love you! Have you tried the service yet? How have you found it? Let us know!

haul // Topshop, Newlook and Boots

Hey guys,
Last weekend I went Christmas present shopping! See I would love to show what I got for other people but If any of them went onto my blog then they would see what they had got and we couldn't have that now ;) So these are just a few bits and pieces I picked up for myself because I had a voucher or needs must. So first of all I went to good 'old Topshop and picked up some jewelry with a voucher I got for my birthday. I picked up a double ring thing that was in the sale and a earring cuff that I was just in love with. I then tottered into boots and had my foundation matched it was so cool I shall be doing a post about that later; I also picked a few secret bits up as well so ;). Every time I go into town I feel compelled to go into House Of Fraser and look at all the benefit make-up, I was looking through my bag when I found a voucher from InStyle entitling me too a free BadGirl Lash mascara. Luckily I got one and I was off on my merry way! Finally I popped into Newlook and picked up a hair doughnut and a ring-bracelet. I know it's near christmas but the foundation was an early Christmas present from mother and the topshop stuff was all voucher and I promise I did some Christmas shopping! What are your recent buys? Let us know! (Sorry for the darkish picture it gets so dark so quick these days!)
