V Festival // Lifestyle

Hello,
Today's post is something a little different but I thought I'd share with you. This time last weekend me and 2 of my friends were wondering the arena of V festival all hyped for tomorrow to see some of the biggest names in music at the moment.
On the Friday night there wasn't that much on at all and after trying and failing at all the things on we finally found the arena open that had all the 16-25 year old's partying to well known dance songs. My favourite kind of scene. So we spent the rest of the night in there with a lovely group of lad's who were very lovely and seemed to think we were 20/21! This ended at 11pm and we made our way back to the tent to prepare for what the next day had ahead for us.
The Saturday was where it all began, when I sit and think about how many people we saw that day I really do question how we fitted it all in along with a toastie and rissotto break! From what I can remember we saw, Matt Richardson, Jess Glynne, Sam Smith, Nina Nesbitt,Train, Chic (Nile Rodgers), Rudimental, Tinie Tempah, Lily Allen, Jason Derulo and to finish off the night, that semi-famous band from the other side of the pond, The Killers. All I can say was you haven't experienced Mr Brightside until you've heard a crowd of 1000's scream it, trust.  Yep that was just in one day. I have to say for some reason this night we were so so tired and just clocked out straight away, apart from when Hope thought someone was in the tent, false alarm.
The finally day of action, Sunday, was another jam packed day of music goodness and maybe a small bit of food. This day we saw, Fuse ODG, All Saints, George Ezra, Tom Odell, Kaiser Chiefs, The Strypes, Miles Kane, Blondie, Bastille, Ed Sheeran and for me the whole reason to put V Festival above all overs, Mr Justin Timberlake. This night however I feel the Vodka kicked in a bit more as we made some more males friends and attempted to do shots with them but sadly ended up on our own doing shots. Have to say good way to end off the weekend. I shall leave you with a few photos including what I have to say is the most hideous selfie of me  have ever seen. I promise I looked better than that throughout the weekend. I shall re-join you at the end.

So you made it, you may have already seen this photos on Instagram if you follow me @alishaleighb_ cheeky plug). Personal highlights for me were of course Tinie tempah along with Rudimental ( no surprises there) also the Kaiser Chiefs were just amazing really hit it out of the park. Another two to watch are Jess Glynne and George Ezra all I can say is they are both bloody brilliant. The headliner that stole the show for me was definitely Justin Timberlake I mean that man can just do it all and back, honestly an incredible singer/musician and all round performer.
I have to say this past weekend I so got in the festival vibe and can not wait to do it again next year, maybe attempt a few more or try and work at some. If you are considering doing it then do because it has been one of the best weekends and even though the sun wasn't shinning don't think I have ever laughed/smiled so much in my life. But that may also be down to the two lovely girls I got to spend it with so shoutout's to them @hopepurcell13 and @smithface02 (go follow them on twitter). And that's the end, if you'd like me to put a few posts up about festival fashion or makeup or even hair then comment below! Along with your experiences of festivals and who you've seen!

selfie // Macklemore & Ryan Lewis

Hey guys,
I know another selfie post but this post was just a brain wave to me and well when genius sparks I can't put that fire out. Okay that was an odd thing to say. Anyways I'm sure you have all heard of good 'old Macklemore and hopefully some of you will know who Ryan Lewis is. Famous for his song 'Thrift Shop'
Which we all know and love very much. But did you know he has so much more to offer. Like seriously. One day I thought you know what lets listen to some of his other works of the album 'The Heist' (which he created with his producer Ryan Lewis). I think I've found a new love, in Macklemore. Seriously you all need to go and have a listen to his other songs because they are just as good as Thrift Shop and really deserve some recognition. I just want to say, I'm not some indie hipster I don't go looking for the most hipster songs I can find to be 'cool'. I really love the mainstream stuff and then if I hear someone I like I sort of venture of into a world of unknown and then that's when I come along different songs. Anyway so my definite new favorite is a song called 'Can't Hold Us' its so upbeat and jolly and just screams summer/spring so here it is:
I absolutely love this song and I hope I can tell as many people about it because this song needs to be on everyone's summer playlists because it is smokin'. Oh god I just said that. But on a more serious note, I really like Macklemore he is an amazing rapper and I feel that he just appeals to so many people especially those, who unlike me, aren't the biggest fans of rappers. So go check him out you may find something you love!
Have you made any recent music discovery's? If so let me know!

Celebrating the Olympics!

First off all I am so so so sorry i haven't updated in like forever and this is such an old post that I have been meaning to do (since the 30th June) so I am sorry and hopefully I'll get back into pattern so I'm planning to review my nicki minaj nail varnish's soon but hey we'll see :) Anyways moving on to the point the other week the Olympic torch was in my area and I was very lucky to win some tickets to go to the Birmingham evening celebrations. Here is an attractive photo of us on the news ;) yeah i'm in the corner when it panned you could clearly see me but my friend was too slow;D
For all you wondering what is this? well basically every evening in certain towns the torch would come in and there would be a concert which is pretty awesome. But this is one of the four special concerts hosted by coca cola (the other 3 were in; Cardiff, Glasgow and Leeds). There was also a huge one in London the other week as well but I went to the Birmingham one. There was tons of brilliant acts showcasing whats great about Birmingham even if some were a bit strange.
The first up we're this pretty attractive dance group called Antics apparently they did really well on Got To Dance or something. They were really good and funny because we we're all screaming and I think they were enjoying having a group of 15 year old girls hooting at them ;D.
Next up were the first of the 'big' live bands they we're a rockish (idek) band called Morning Parade they were pretty good but not really my cup of tea (pardon the pun) after a while me and my friend found ourselves saying when they going to finish it all sounds the same :L but yeah they tried bless them :')
This is when the good stuff that I knew starting coming up. Twist and Pulse with this brilliant DJ and there own little dance crew came out and did a performance and really like got everyone singing and dancing. They we're hilarious and I think everyone just loved it.
Loick Essien was the next act and the second 'big' artists for you's that think who is he and why do you class him as a good act? well have you ever heard 'How We Roll' (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LA1lXhVf_Do) here for anyone who really doesn't know what I going on about. He was really good and I have seen him before he has a brilliant voice and deserves more re-conistion for how good he really is. He also did a beautiful cover of Chase'N'Status ft Plan B - End Credits, one of my favorite songs (but need not worry it wasn't as good as the original but it was still pretty good).
Little picture for you's of the cauldron being lit and the torch bearer on the left she was so lovely and really deserved to carry that torch; Bless her she fell up the steps :')
Que loud girlish scream ;) Here is what we call came for was the beautiful amazing talent, THE WANTED. Yep I got to these lovelies for free be well jel ;D But on a more serious note they were amazing and i swear down Nathan even blew a kiss to me and my friend :') he also, bless him, pulled this girl up on the stage because she was getting crushed and sang to her it was so sweet (even if I was a bit jel ;D). They were really good and they preformed for like 1hr 30mins which was really good. Also on a little side note I GOT TO TOUCH TOM'S ARM asddgfhgjhkjkl;klkjjhgfdsa. Yeah so that was just a little exciting ;).
I think I speak for all of us then I say we had a brilliant time. I'm gonna leave with a scary picture of us (minus Abz coz she was breaking down from happiness) and say, have been to any concerts recently let me know and tell me all abut it or even were you here?
