A haul from a while ago // Haul

Hello,

I feel it is embarrassing to say how long ago I brought this stuff however I had the photo and all of the things are still available so I thought it would be fine to still write a cheeky little haul post about it all. We shall start with the benefit items, I purchased Big Easy in 03 and That Gal. I went in to just have a feel of big easy as I have wanted to try a BB product for quite a while and thought this could be a good step into it. I was sucked in further and ended up also buying that gal after being shown how well it combined with benefit's other primer, the Porefessional. 

After feeling a bit lighter after saying goodbye to that money I quickly ran into Lush to grab my all time favorite toner Breath of Fresh Air. Literally can not get enough of it. 

Finally I popped into boots while the 3 for 2 was on to grab a new concealer, as the the Collection one was out of stock I went back to an old favorite Rimmel's Wake Me Up. As i'm hitting up V Festival in a week's time I thought I'd spice my boring same old face of make-up and try a blue eyeliner just to add a simple bit of colour. As I said before 3 for 2 was on so I had no choice but to buy another item which was the Maybelline 14hr Lipstick in Coral. Such good staying power for a nice everyday lipstick (it doesn't look as bright on, trust me).

So that's it, but don't you worry I have another haul coming Thursday and by that point I will have been to Oxford street in London so plenty of more goodies to come!

February Birchbox // Beauty Box

 Hello,

Day number 2 and we move lovingly on to the month of February. Again another exciting box and mix of brands. After this month I started collecting those bags the products come in such a genius idea of a way to package it. Very chic and not tacky at all. Instead of me rambling about the packaging shall we just move on to what was inside.

 Eyeko - Skinny Mini Liquid Liner Black

A lovely brand, with the face of Alexa Chung to it. Who doesn't love a simple black eyeliner that anyone could give a go and gives a good intense black colour. I absolutely love this pen style of eyeliner I find them so easy to work with and I'm able to nail the cat eye nearly every time. 10/10 of product and if you look at the price, well it's worth the box alone.

 Gilchrist & Soames - Shower Gel

Everyone showers so who can complain about getting a new shower gel to try, especially when the brand is as chic as this. Normally found in the high end hotel rooms and now in my bathroom this shower gel lathers beautifully and has such a musky scent that could appeal to both men and women alike. Thumbs up here.

 Urban Veda Radiance Exfoliating Facial Polish

Another product that's meant to do it all in one while not infecting your skin with any artificial nasties. I love organic products purely for the appeal of the ingredients that are put in and all the natural cure for skin issues. I find they tend to work better than the fake stuff and leave the skin with a good glow. Another top notch product.

 Leighton Denny Nail Polish

Another full size, defiantly spoiling me there. Leighton Denny polish are so so so good, the colour pay off, the application and most importantly the longevity of them is just out of this world. I like the fact I received this black colour because it won't go out of trend and can have so many uses in terms of nail art.

Beauty Protector - Protect & Oil

Final product, and it's so cute and small. It's a beautiful smelling hair oil that claims to not just nourish those dead ends, oops, but also protect them against further wear and tear they may suffer. A little goes a long way with hair oils so I'm sure I'll be able to get many goes out of this!

So that's day 2 concluded and the end of February, this was another consistent back that had the amazing range of products/brands. Another thing to point out is how these boxes make their money back up, easily, a definite worthwhile investment.

January Birchbox // Beauty Box

Hello,

What do you know it's the first day of my massive cover-up scheme for being lazy. It's the January Birchbox! This was the first box I received and I was so chuffed with everything that was inside, really had got my money's worth, with a good mix of brands I knew and loved as well as one's I'd never heard of. Lets go through them one by one shall we. Also I have linked all the products the Birchbox store so you can see the price etc.

 Moa - The Green Balm

This little balm claims to basicaly be everything in one. It can be used to cleanse and remove all the make up off your face, as your daily cleanser or just as a general healing product. All the ingredients are 100% natural so no nasty's in here. All in all a cute little sample that I just haven't got round to trying!

 Benefit - The Porefessional

Being the UK's number 1 selling primer, it's not to have heard of this product. I am already a huge fan of this primer and was so chuffed to see it in my Birchbox, a travel size is never a bad thing in my opinon. I love the silky feel this gives my skin to allow my foundation to just glide over. Little insider tip, if your skin isn't looking as glowy and fresh as you'd like then mix this with a bit of Benefit's That Gal for the most amazing base. I'll let you have that one for free!

 Lavera - Basis Sensitiv Handcreme

This is just an nice hand cream really. Its ingredients are all natural  and organic to make it a little special from anything normally avaliable however to me hand cream, ie they are either good or not. This one falls nicely into the good category and makes a perfect little handbag size. Not the most exciting of products however nothing wrong with it.

 Delarom - Acquaconfort Mask

I'm a huge face mask girl, I love the feeling they give to my skin and the deep cleanse they can offer is to die for. As I don't have the most fixed of skincare routines I'll happily try anything especially if it claims to give this dry skin some well needed nourishment.

Philip Kingsley - Elasticizer

Yep, it's that cult beauty product that is loved by all including many famous faces. Such a great product to receive in a box, just enough to see whether you do truly like the product and decided whether you will splurge which I think in most cases is a definite, yes, yes and a yes.

As you can tell I really did love January's box, such a good mix between all different types of products and brands, nothing to complain about here. So that ends day 1 roll on day 2!

Depop // Fashion

Hello,

First of all please excuse all the the very manikin like posing above, personally I'm quite creeped out by how similar all of these look however some may view that as a talent. But before I drift onto something else today's post s a quickie about a new app that I'm obsessed with called Depop. Depop is a little bit like Instagram meets eBay basically you can buy and sell clothes at a click of a button without any hassle. To sell you just upload a few photos from your iPhone or Google phone, add a small description along with price and postage, and well jobs a good one. It then appears on yours and whoever follows you's timeline, from there they can like/comment/buy the item, they can also privately message you anything else. I've been using it for a few weeks and I love it, such a practical and good idea for an app. A huge recommend from me and if you do already have it be sure to follow me @alishaleighbarfield

7 Months Of Being Subscribed To Birchbox In A Week // Beauty Box

Hello,

Well it's been a while hasn't it. I keep trying to come up with reason after reason on why I haven't been regularly updating and there just isn't one. It started with being busy with school work, then exams, then having a brief period of chilling and then that developed into pure laziness. No more! I really want to keep my blog running effectively as I just have so much that I want to talk about. So hopefully this will be the start of me really getting back onto the blogging bandwagon and getting into a routine with it that works well around all of my other commitments so I can still retain my favorite hobby.I have so many idea's for post in the next few weeks, ie trying to do some more fashion and lifestyle  posts.  So now we've got the boring admin/apology done lets get into today's post. 

I have been subscribed to Birchbox for 7 months now which is a heck of long time and I have never done a post on any of my boxes. So I thought why not condense 7 months into 1 week so any possible people that may be interested in subscribing can see what they are to expect over a fair period. Luckily I did manage to take loads and loads of photos so you can really see in depth what you get in Birchbox. Slight spoiler alert but I am very happy with my subscription and I find the quality of the boxes to be much more consistant that some of its competitors. So from Monday 11th there will be each month of Birchbox and by the time I'm back from V Festival we shall be ready for August. How exciting!!

Review // Lush Candy Mountain

Lush Candy Mountain

Before I start I just want to apologies for the fact that this was a limited edition product for Christmas but I just really wanted to review it! A great dupe for this is the permanent Creamy Candy bubble bar and the scent is very similar to the Rock Star soap! Back to the review, this has to be one of my favorite products that Lush came out with this year over the festive season, it's the perfect girly bubble bath with a sweet vanilla scent that isn't too sickly. Inspired by one of Lush's best sellers, Snow Fairy, this pink and cream glitter bubble bar is guaranteed to make you feel like a little girl again! I find the bubble bars are most effective when crumbled underneath the tap, this produces the best lather.

Sorry for the poor image the lighting in the bathroom isn't great! However it gives an idea of what it looked like in the bath, lots of bubbles and lots of shimmer on a sweet pink coloured bath. The scent is one of my favorites, I love all things sweet smelling and this defiantly did it for me and for £2.85 it didn't break the bank either. Overall a great bubble bar however I'm gutted that it was only a special edition, lets hope it makes a come back at the end of the year! Have you tried this product? Review // Sleek i-Divine Storm Palette

Sleek I-Divine Storm Palette

This palette currently retails for £7.99 at Superdrug and after reading many reviews I caved in, brought it and absolutely loved it. This palette contains 12 beautiful shades ranging in formulas from mattes to shimmers, all of the colour's complement each other perfectly. The pigmentation is comparable to some of the more higher end brands, with each shadow blending effortlessly either just across the lid or into the crease. The top row features more lighter colour's while the bottom offers more of a darker touch. At first I didn't think there was much versatility with this palette however I have found myself reaching for it most days because it has the perfect shade to go with Mac's Cranberry or the perfect blue to give my smokey eye something else. Below I've included some swatches just to show you the range of colour's and beautifully they come out. Note they look even better with a good primer!

As you can see there are a range of neutral colour's with a few others just in case you wanted to try something different and step out of the browns, grey's and blacks. The lighter colour's didn't photograph as well as they looked in person which is a shame but in person they really do hold there own. The pigmentation is just not what you expect from a drugstore palette. I honestly can't rave about this palette enough and at £7.99 it is really a steal, a must in anyone's collection.

Boots Beauty Advent Calender // Day 23

Umberto Giannini Glam Hair Backcomb In A Bottle

I already have a full size of this but receiving a travel size is fine by me because it's such an all rounder hair product. It works as a mousse / volumizer and hair spray to give you those big pageant hair styles and keep them in place all day. I find if I've curled or even just straightened my hair a few sprits of this and a little rouching which give my hair that extra model potential look.
