empties // April/May

Hey guys, So this is my long over-due empties post from this month and last! As you can see a fair few things have been culminated. I feel like it is a good moment when I finish something because it means I get to try a new product without being wasteful. Win, win situation. So without further ado here we gooooooo

Hair care
First of all we have the VO5 Revive Me Daily Shampoo, I really enjoyed using this shampoo it made my hair feel clean and healthy which for me is all I really look for at it served it's purpose. I probably will re-purchase at some point but to be honest I just buy whats on offer at the moment. To accompany the shampoo we have the VO5 Give Me Moisture Conditioner, again this was a ice conditioner and it left my hair feel smooth and shinny without looking greasy so thumbs up for that. The last thing is the conditioner that came with my Garnier Nutrisse hair dye. Love the smell of this!

Body
First of all we a pot from Lush, the 'Creme Anglaise, Hand and Body Lotion'. I didn't really take to the smell of this just wasn't a fave of mine. But if I remember correctly it was pretty moisturizing so bonus points there. I didn't really enjoy it but it can go towards my 5 pots so not a total loss. Next we have a shower scrub from a Gok gift set I got at Christmas. It was nice just one of those products you used up for the sake of using. Next we have the Soap and Glory Clean On Me Shower Gel. Nice classic soap and glory scent, left me feeling clean and refreshed. I like to change the smell of my shower gel quite often, but I will probably buy this again in the near future. Lastly there is The Body Shop Sweet Lemon Body Scrub, I love love love this smell. Let me re-phrase that. Anything from the body shop. I loved used this, quite coarse, scrub and would recommend it to all.

Face
As you can see we have three Lush pots, we have two face masks 'Love lettuce' and 'Catastrophe Cosmetic'. Both of which we're nice, I personally didn't see any major skin benefits but they didn't make my skin any worse so I can't complain. The other pot is the 'Ocean Salt' which is a facial scrub. I loved this, it was really tough and cleaned all the grime out of my skin. Nice. But seriously cleaned up my skin and gave a nice refreshing smell. The last two bits are make-up. One is the 24-hours Extreme Felt-Tip Liner by Collection and the other is a lipstick from the Natural Collection. Technically this lippy isn't finished but it's snapped beyond repair! Oh well. The liner was ace and I brought another, such a good price and lasts all day!

review // Carmex

Hey guys, 

So today I thought i'd just do a small review on this little tube of goodness. The Carmex lip balm is a much hyped up product that many swear by as their solution for chapped lips. I've been testing this strawberry one out for a few weeks and well it's alright. Now don't take that the wrong way. I do like this lip balm, it defiantly stops my lips from chapping and makes them feel soft.  Which is the aim. On the other hand, a few negatives, the strawberry taste is very brief ( when I mean brief I mean you put it on and bam its gone) so that for me is a let down because what you are left with a is a tingly minty feeling which isn't my favorite  I like fruity things on my lips not mint leafs. But when I overcome this I do enjoy using this product but for me taste is a huge thing when it comes to my lips. So overall I'd give it an 3/5! For the price its defiantly worth a try, at about £2. So have you tried this product out? Or can you recommend any good lip balms in my quest? Let us know!

review // Real Techniques core collection

Hey guys,

So I think we all know where this is going... It seems to me that everyone and their sister, brother and goldfish have these brushes and just can't seem to get enough of them. Sadly for me where there is a hype, there is me stood there, being a sheep. But in the case of 'The Real Techniques Core Collection' I genuinely have found love. I never really use to be a huge brush person just would use my grubby fingers to whack the make-up onto my face, but slowly I got more and more into them. One day, whilst in Birmingham, I took the plunge and brought these beauties at £21.99. Lets just say its one of the best £21.99 I have ever spent. I find this kit is great to start off your brush collection and join the path of applying make-up better. I love the fact they are synthetic and cruelty free. This makes them feel so soft and makes the application of make-up so easy and smooth. I shall run through each one of the brushes and what I use it for. 

 'The holy grail brush' or sometimes known as the 'Buffing Brush'. This brush is designed to be used for applying powders or minerals but I prefer to use it at my liquid foundation brush. Like many other bloggers I find it gives me a flawless and even application of my foundation. I can see why this brush is so hyped up because it defiantly deserves it.

 Secondly, we have the 'Contour Brush' which is meant to be used to apply highlighter and like the name suggest contour the cheek bone. I use it to apply my blush whether it be cream or powder, I feel it would work best as a contour brush if you were to use bronzer but I haven't found a bronzer for my skin yet! But it does do a brilliant job of evenly blending out my blusher.

 When then have the 'Pointed Foundation Brush' which is designed to be used with liquid foundation. I, on the other hand, use it to blend out my concealer, especially in those hard to reach areas. I love the fact I can use the pointed end to get in the crooks around my nose and then use it flat to blend it over any blemishes.  

Finally we have the brush I use the least the 'Detailer brush'. I find this is a good brush for creating a smokey eye where you don't want the liner to look straight and harsh. It also works well as a lip brush like suggested by Samantha Chapman herself.

Overall I find this an extremely useful kit of brushes that are so versatile and could be used by anybody. They are so soft and well crafted and are a must have for anyone with an interest in makeup. review // Space Girl

Hey guys,

So i'm hear today to review this little beauty. How cute is it, a little planet, aw. I just love space so this was right up my street. When I picked out of the box it just smelt like parma violets, if you are unaware of what these are then you had a deprived childhood. I had real high hopes for the little beauty so here's how I got on ...

As you can see it turned my bath water ever so slightly purple, there wasn't really any bubbles, but there was plenty of popping candy. It just wouldn't stop! The smell remained right till the very end. I just I don't know, I just don't really think this was for me. I love exciting, colorful  bubbly baths this was just a 'meh' bath to me. But let me just be clear I don't think this is a bad product at all! I just feel it isn't for me! If you want something plainer or less scary then this is just the one for you! haul // My last big spend before exams

Hey guys, So I've been shopping again. Don't sound too surprised  So I decided last month i'd do a little bit of shopping of things I don't really need before exams (cough nearly my birthday cough). So picked up a few 'essentials' while walking the streets of Coventry. Lets get crackalickin. So all the stuff, lack for a better word, above I picked up in boots. When I see boots hauls i'm always so envious of people that can just pick anything up whether it be polish, make up or skin care and I have to stick to a budget. #alishaproblems.

So the first thing I picked up was the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation in the shade 51. I made a huge mistake I mean't to get the hyped up serum one but picked up the wrong one. But hold your tears, all is well, I have fallen for this foundation very hard. It smells nice, It feels nice, It is just so so nice. 

The next thing I picked up was my beloved Collection 2000 Extreme Felt-tip Liner in 01 Black. I don't have much to say on this other than it's my holy grail eyeliner because for the price you get such an amazing product so if your thinking about starting to do black eyeliner then defiantly try this one out! 

Then I picked up a new mascara in the form of the Rimmel Lash Excelerator Endless. I really like this mascara and even though (by accident) I picked it up in brown, it is amazing at making my lashes longer with the fibers that attach to your lashes. It sounds a bit grim but it's really not. Truly great product. Holla at rimmel.

I then strutted over too the Revlon stand where I stood in ore for over 10 minuets over everything. I want it all. Please. I finally settle on the Revlon Photoready Cream Blush in Coral Reef and a Lip Butter in Tutti Fruiti. Both corals ready for spring to add a bit of colour to my face. I'm really falling for coral it seems to be something that has really became hyped up and well where there is a hype you'll find me. 

The final thing I picked up was actual from Superdrug because they don't stock MUA in boots. Its the the MUA Pro-Base Eye Primer. I really wanted to try a budget eye primer out and well this fitted both requirements so I was like lets just give it a whurl. I don't think its anything as good as the Urban Decay Primer Potion sounds but it defiantly keeps my eye make-up on for longer than normal which is a bonus. 

Then it was only necessary to make a trip to Lush aka one of my favouritest stores ever. I was a good girl and only picked up two little things. The first being the Fizzbanger. I'm not going to go into much detail because I do have a review of this to come in the near future. The other thing I picked up is the Pop In The Bath. I really just loved the smell of this and I wanted to find something that would produce lots and lots of bubbles so this looked like a good choice. 

The final place I went was Newlook and I picked up this pack of 6 rings for a mere £3.50! How good is that?! I'm sorry for my awful hand modeling and the fact my nails are all different lengths. Sorry! But I think for the money they are some lovely rings that I don't think I've taken off since I brought them. Ooops.

selfie // Macklemore & Ryan Lewis

Hey guys,
I know another selfie post but this post was just a brain wave to me and well when genius sparks I can't put that fire out. Okay that was an odd thing to say. Anyways I'm sure you have all heard of good 'old Macklemore and hopefully some of you will know who Ryan Lewis is. Famous for his song 'Thrift Shop'

Which we all know and love very much. But did you know he has so much more to offer. Like seriously. One day I thought you know what lets listen to some of his other works of the album 'The Heist' (which he created with his producer Ryan Lewis). I think I've found a new love, in Macklemore. Seriously you all need to go and have a listen to his other songs because they are just as good as Thrift Shop and really deserve some recognition. I just want to say, I'm not some indie hipster I don't go looking for the most hipster songs I can find to be 'cool'. I really love the mainstream stuff and then if I hear someone I like I sort of venture of into a world of unknown and then that's when I come along different songs. Anyway so my definite new favorite is a song called 'Can't Hold Us' its so upbeat and jolly and just screams summer/spring so here it is: 

I absolutely love this song and I hope I can tell as many people about it because this song needs to be on everyone's summer playlists because it is smokin'. Oh god I just said that. But on a more serious note, I really like Macklemore he is an amazing rapper and I feel that he just appeals to so many people especially those, who unlike me, aren't the biggest fans of rappers. So go check him out you may find something you love!

selfie // I saw this boyband you may have heard of them?

Hey guys,

So this another one of those post where I tell you little anecdotes of my life. Lucky you! Anyways on Friday 22nd March 2013, me, my friend Alex, her sister Livvi, her cousin Alannah and her other cousin Immi went to the Lg Arena see some boy band you may have heard of called One Direction. You know the biggest selling boy band at the moment. I don't know their a little low key but. Oh look at me trying to be funny. Yeah we have all heard of them! They were amazing. We booked the tickets over a year ago and by the time the night came me and lexa didn't really feel the hype that much. But when we got to our seats (urm 13 rows from the front may I add) we were absolutely buzzing for it. They performed all of their big hits as well as songs of both their albums. They even had a B-stage which urm 4 FRICKIN ROWS AWAY FROM. If it would have been quite we could have had a full blown conversation. They traveled from stage to stage on a platform that went across the audience. Urm Zayn, Liam and Louis may have waved at us and zayn even added a cheeky smile. and i'm just really calm about that. Oh god look at me exposing my directioner side. Help. I love them too much considering i'm meant to love rap. Oh sweet Jesus! Well before I make any more of a mess of myself here are some pictures from the evening. Oh did I mention the support act (5 Seconds of Summer) were just hot okay. I'm going.

review // Mumkin

Hey guys, today i'm here to talk to you about this little bundle of goodness. Isn't it just the cutest little bath product. Got to love Lush. If you are unaware of what ^that is, it's called a Mumkin and not even Lush really knows what it is. It smells utterly divine and I just couldn't wait to crumble this little baby into the bath. So this is what happened ...

As you can see the water gained a sort of orange/pink tone to it nothing too bright or scary like another product I shall be talking about! A fair amount of bubbles were produced but not as much as I was expecting considering I used the whole thing but the Comforter just gives you these ridiculous expectations. The smell was really nice, sort of sweet and fruity. But it wasn't over powering its very subtle and with the nice hot steam cleansing your face it just sends you into pure relaxation. I really enjoyed using this and I wish it was an all year round product! Have you tried this Mumkin? Or do you have another Lush favourite? Let me know!
